Sarah Mold

Sales Graduate

"I’ve found the Heinz experience so far to be challenging, extremely interesting and very rewarding."

I am currently 4 months in to my placement at Heinz, working in the Convenience and Impulse team. We deal with a variety of different customers; everything from chemists to Cash and Carry’s, all with very different needs and requirements.

My role is a sales support function and I am currently working closely with the Musgrave National Account Manager to develop an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of an Account Manager. Upon development of the correct profile, I will then become responsible for the Baby food category within the Musgrave account; the parent company of Budgens and Londis, under close supervision of the Account manager.

I’ve been involved in several Category Thought Leadership days where the relevant marketing teams showcase new products and present back the concepts behind the products, the marketing strategies, and invite us to sample the products and leave our feedback. This has been a great way to understand the latest products we are producing and be made aware of particular market trends.

A huge emphasis is placed on the Graduates and our personal development and we are often referred to as the “future of the business”. It’s really encouraging to know that the business views the graduates with such importance.

Since I’ve worked at Heinz I have had the opportunity to meet and share ideas with senior people who were really interested to know the perceptions and insights of somebody new to the business.

As part of the scheme I will also have the opportunity to get involved in a project within another function; possibly marketing, logistics or finance. This will be a great opportunity to experience another aspect of the Heinz business and develop my understanding of the way in which the various business systems within Heinz are integrated.

I’ve found the Heinz experience so far to be challenging, extremely interesting and very rewarding.
