Ross Longton
Sales and Marketing Graduate
“…fully involved in building the brand strategy and shaping the marketing plans.”
While at university I undertook a one year placement at Heinz and was thrilled to come back after I graduated. I was attracted to the Heinz graduate scheme as it provided the opportunity to undertake four six-month placements in different areas of the business, allowing me to gain cross functional experience which will be of great benefit to my career.
I am thoroughly enjoying my first placement as Brand Marketer on Amoy as I have been fully involved in building the brand strategy and shaping the marketing plans.
The empowerment provided to graduates has granted me ownership of several exciting new product development projects, involving managing recipe development, packaging design and product launch strategies. I have also enjoyed the responsibility of developing the brand’s digital communication strategy.
I particularly like the scheme’s emphasis on personal development. The democratic culture also enables me to learn from and communicate directly with senior decision makers.
Everyone at Heinz is very friendly and supportive, making it a great place to work and I would definitely recommend it to anyone enthusiastic about a career in the FMCG sector.
